New Features? O La La

Hey everyone, Litsay here and we’ve got some updates for you. In response to some member comments we’ve added a favorites section to every members profile. This way not only will you be able to keep track of your favorite writings on Litsay, but you will be able to see other people’s favorites as well! Found on author you like on Litsay? Then see what they enjoy reading.

In addition, we’ve added a ‘My Comments’ feature.  This is just an easy way to keep track of writings that you’ve already commented on, and a way to see what other have been commenting.

Sometime in the next couple of weeks, we will be releasing a feed through which you will be notified when someone comments on one of your writings, when a comment you’ve written is replied to, and more.

Keep the suggestions coming and we will keep working to improve Litsay. Remember, this is Your Creative Writing Community.

Much Love,

Litsay - Your Creative Writing Community

Power Failure

The host that maintains Litsay’s servers has had a rather large power failure.  As a result Litsay is currently down.  Engineers are working to fix the problem right now.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hopefully they will have things fixed soon.

Oh Update, My Update

Hey everyone out there in Litsay-land! As we continue to grow as a community, updates are being made and important developments are happening, that you the readers and writers of Litsay should be aware of. First and foremost, you can now see who the moderators and owners of communities are. The list can be found on the main page of the community at the bottom right. Since our last entry, there has also been the creation of several new communities including one on publishing and one as a writing workshop. Check them out if you’re interested or create your own community if those aren’t to your liking! We’ve also made a facebook page that we encourage you to become a fan of: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Litsay/138631702840550. Most importantly, tell your friends, family and fellow fans of literature about Litsay and help make it even more so, your creative writing community.

Like a Rolling Stone

We are proud to announce Litsay is moving full speed ahead! Not only have the number of writings and members on Litsay increased exponentially since our past blog entry but we have made functional improvements as well. As an administrator and moderator of a community you can now pin and lock topics in your forum. This will be helpful if you’re looking to keep an important topic at the top of the forum or want to end a discussion for one reason or another. If you haven’t already, check out the community function on Litsay; we know you’ll be impressed.  A less noticeable but just important upgrade involves the text editor, something readers and writers alike can appreciate. We’ve streamlined the editor so that it works better with pasting text and many other tasks. We hope you enjoy!

As always, email us with any questions, concerns or suggestions at contact [at] Litsay.com.

Much Love,

Dear all Readers, Writers, and Fans of Literature,

Your time on the internet has come!  After years of struggling to get yourself heard, you now have Litsay, a new creative writing community.  It’s been a few years in the making with designs and redesigns along the way as well as countless hours of programming to get everything just right.  With our launch this week we’ve taken the step out of that jumbled programming womb and into the great World Wide Web with a website we believe is simple, very functional, and just a little sexy.

To get started on Litsay, all you need is an email address, a username, and a password, although there are plenty of other things to customize as well.  Put a picture up if you’re feeling friendly, represent your hometown by entering your location, or enter a pen name if you want to be shrouded in mystery (until you become famous and everyone knows your real name).  Once you’re signed up, creating a writing is as easy as a click of a button.  We welcome poetry, short stories, novels, plays, prose and everything in between.  That’s right: we don’t play favorites, we love all creative writings the same.  On the reader side of things, whatever you like reading, there is a place for you and you can comment and vote on all the writings on the website.

At the warm and gooey center of Litsay, past the crunchy (and fun) shell of readers, writers and the writings themselves, lies the Community.  It is the worldwide writing community that drives Litsay and is a feature we feel brings a lot to the table.  Communities are a way of networking, getting feedback on a writing, or discussing an aspect of literature.  Each community has customizable options for its writings as well as a built in forum and the best part is ANY user on the website can create one!

Litsay has been a long time in the making but now that it’s here what’s stopping you from checking it out?  Go to www.Litsay.com and help us create a worldwide writing community.  We encourage you to contact us with any suggestions or concerns. Thanks!

Much Love,

Litsay – Your Creative Writing Community
